Sony Promotes 'Hornet' With Mobile 3D Cards

  • December 2, 2010
Sony Pictures has launched an innovative campaign for its upcoming release "The Green Hornet" that enables movie goers and fans to receive and view 3D content on their mobile phones.

The "Green Hornet On-The-Go" campaign uses mobile marker technology from WiMO Reality, allowing movie goers to use their smartphones to scan the Green Hornet movie logo. They are then directed to a mobile site in which they can view 3D digital collectors cards (viewable with specially marked 3D glasses that look the hero's signature black mask). The glasses will be distributed at selected theaters an at various stops on the national tour of the movie's Black Beauty car.

"With the increased usage of mobile applications, people are enjoying entertainment content while they're on the go - so we wanted to bring The Green Hornet right to consumers on their devices," said Dwight Caines, President, Worldwide Digital Marketing, Sony Pictures, in a statement. "The most exciting part is that we're delivering this in 3D."
