An elevator accident at 285 Madison Ave, home to iconic ad agency Y&R, (formerly Young & Rubicam) has left one person dead and several injured, according to local New York reports.

The accident occurred at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, when an elevator began moving between floors with its doors still open.

The victims have not been identified and it was unclear if they worked for the agency or sibling firms also housed at the building. Unrelated companies are also tenants in the building.

The accident follows news earlier this month that Y&R had signed a lease to move uptown to Columbus Circle after residing for 85 years at the 285 Madison location.
