Song Spoofs 'Celebrity Booze Endorsers'

  • August 28, 2012

A new album of satiric songs from Harry Shearer ("The Simpsons," "This Is Spinal Tap") features "Celebrity Booze Endorser"--an ode to "aging rockers and rappers turning to selling fashionable alcohol to make ends meet."

Snippets: "Your brand's aspirational...the whole affair's been walked upstairs...folks with a drinking problem can read the teeny print, but you're late for a photo shoot, and they're paying you a mint...now you're playing it smooth...this will keep you in shoes...you're a celebrity booze endorser."

Shearer is backed by indie rockers Fountains of Wayne.

Videos for this track and others from "Can't Take a Hint" are on www.MyDamnChannel.com/HarryShearer.
