Super Bowl Ad Time Officially Sold Out

  • January 10, 2013

CBS reported that all available commercial time for Super Bowl XLVII has been sold--unless a marketer wants so much to be included that money is no object, according to The New York Times.

CBS Corp. chairman/CEO Leslie Moonves, who said that some spots were sold for over $4 million, said that if an advertiser  (like "one of those movie companies") wants to "come in and pay five or six million dollars, we will find room."

NYT reports that agency execs estimate that advertisers this year paid an average of $3.7 million to $3.8 million for a 30-second spot, up from $3.5 million for last year's game.
