Macy's Unwraps The Year In Flowers

  • March 6, 2013

Macy’s says the theme for its annual flower show comes from India, and “the majesty of Asia” will be evident in everything from intense jewel tones and a 10-foot elephant, planted with thousands of flowers. Called The Painted Garden, this year’s show runs from March 24 through April 7, and will appear in Macy’s New York flagship, as well as Philadelphia, Chicago, Minneapolis and San Francisco.

The retailer says it will also revisit the Macy’s Cherry Blossom Show in its Washington D.C., store, an event that includes 30 blossoming trees, and formal Japanese gardens. Macy’s flower shows, which it links to Easter promotions and include fashion shows and culinary events, have been staged continuously for more than 60 years.
