Lanctot Confirms Razorfish Exit

Jeff Lanctot, former chief media officer at Razorfish, confirmed on Friday that he’s leaving the digital agency he initially joined more than a decade ago. "The handful of rumors, tweets, posts and stories are true. After 12 great years at AveA/AQNT/Razorfish, I've decided to move on," he said via his Twitter account.

In a separate tweet, he added he's taking August off “to recharge and consider a number of exciting options.”

His departure comes just a couple of weeks after former Razorfish Global CEO Bob Lord was named CEO of AOL Networks.

Lanctot joined Avenue A, the agency that would later merge with Razorfish, as a media director in 1999. He rose to senior vice president, media and eventually chief strategy officer before leaving in 2009 to join Microsoft as managing director of advertiser and publisher solutions, following the software giant’s acquisition of Razorfish parent aQuantive.

Lanctot returned to Razorfish in 2011 to lead the agency’s media business.
