Fiksu's Technology Boosts Quiz Up's Viral Spread

Boston-based Fiksu, a developer of mobile app marketing products, said Friday that its technology was an important factor in the viral spread of Plain Vanilla's mobile game app Quiz Up.

The hugely popular trivia game, which was created by Iceland's Plain Vanilla, was able to snag one million registered users during the first eight days of its iPhone release last November. The app has roughly 10 million users to date.

An Android version of the app was released earlier this week.

“We knew in order to break through the ‘tough to crack' mobile trivia games category, we had to pair a great product with a great marketing plan,” said Neal Ostrov, chief marketing officer of Plain Vanilla, in a statement. “Our marketing partnership with Fiksu gave us the promotional boost we needed to not only succeed but to dominate the games app category. A position we didn’t expect to realize in such a short timeframe.”
