Sony's Crackle Latches On To Chromecast Dongle

Crackle, the Sony-owned online streaming service, today announced it will be accessible though the Chromecast app.

It appears a content competition may be working its way forward with a improvements to Amazon’s streaming service to be announced on Wednesday. Apple is rumored to be close behind.

Crackle is probably best known for its “Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee” produced and starring Jerry Seinfeld,  and other online offerings, “Chosen” and “Cleaners.” It also offers a selection of well-known TV shows and movies.

Chromecast, which last summer began offering a WiFi way for viewers through a $35 dongle to view YouTube and Netflix on a second screen, also offers Google Play, HBO GO, Hulu Plus, Pandora and Chrome itself.
