The Amazon versus Apple battle looks set to intensify with rumours that Amazon is to launch a smartphone at an event to be held on June 18th. Bloomberg claims to have spoken to someone connected with
the launch and the suggestion is backed up by an Amazon tweet for the event featuring a picture of a mobile phone bearing its logo. Bloomberg reported back in 2012 that Amazon was working on
developing a smartphone based on Google's Android operating system.
