Saatchi NY Elevates Pogue To Chief Strategy Officer

Saatchi & Saatchi New York has appointed Wanda Pogue as chief strategy officer. With the appointment, she becomes part of the agency’s Leadership Team. She replaces Claudine Cheever, who is leaving the agency for an undisclosed post within Publicis Groupe, the agency said.

Pogue will report to Saatchi New York CEO Brent Smart and work closely with Jay Benjamin, who was appointed the agency’s chief creative officer in April, having previously held the CCO post at sibling agency Leo Burnett NY.

Smart said that Pogue “has a very human approach to planning and she makes the complicated simple. But mostly she makes the work better. There is a great chemistry between Jay, Wanda and me.”

Pogue, a 15-year strategic planning veteran, was most recently a global planning director with Saatchi New York, leading communication strategies for P&G's largest global brands such as Olay, Tide & Ariel.

Pogue started her career in marketing research. She specialized in US Hispanic and multicultural markets for several years and then moved into a Regional Strategic Planning role at Saatchi & Saatchi in Latin America. She was promoted to EVP global planning director in 2010.
