Terri & Sandy Solution Celebrate People's 40th Anniversary

People magazine is officially over the hill and its AOR The Terri & Sandy Solution are launching a huge celebration to honor the big 4-0.

The campaign coincides with People's 40th anniversary launching the week of October 13th and includes national TV, print, and digital.

There's an overarching :30 second spot and two themed :15 second spots that will appear  nationally. The :15 second spots focus on two of the magazine’s bestselling themes—Royals and the annual Sexiest Man Alive issue. To that end, the voice-over for the Royals spot reads, “40 years of making the Royal Family your extended family.”

The voice-over for the Sexiest Man Alive spot reads, “40 years of mental infidelity.” These spots are supported by digital and print advertising.

The concept is designed to acknowledge the cultural impact of Time Inc.’s weekly magazine by showcasing 40 years of iconic covers.

"This campaign doesn't just celebrate People magazine, it celebrates the people in People and the people who read People," says Terri Meyer, Co-Founder of The Terri & Sandy Solution. "It's about our shared journey through the ups and downs. If consumers see the spot and feel an emotional connection with People as the trusted media source that has chronicled our lives and continues to do so, we will have succeeded. Of course if they pick up the Anniversary issue, and subsequent issues, that is the true testament of success."

Still, it wasn't easy uniting 40 years of magazine covers. "Our biggest challenge was deciding which covers to feature," says Meyer. "There are just so many options--from Portia and Ellen's wedding to some of Hollywood's sexiest men like George Clooney. We had heated debates in the office, but were finally able to agree, with the help of our clients, on some incredible icons."

This is the agency's third year working with the People brand. It had been its partner while People was part of Time Inc. and continues to be since Time spun off its publishing into a separate division.
