Last summer's organized boycott of the Market Basket supermarket chain made international headlines as 25,000 nonunion employees and nearly 2 million devoted customers battled the Market Basket supermarket chain in order to regain control of their company and reinstate their beloved CEO Arthur T. Demoulas.

This unbelievable true story is now moving beyond the business pages. Horizon Media’s branded content division, Bungalow Horizon, will produce "We The People: The Market Basket Effect" -- a documentary about this story -- in association with Dundee Entertainment and Hammer Productions.

Bungalow Horizon will handle the development of strategic partnerships, distribution, experiential and integration opportunities for brands.

Those involved with this documentary all have personal connections to the supermarket and region. The film is executive produced by New Hampshire natives Nick Buzzell and Mike Buzzell (NBTV), as well as Robert “Bobby” Friedman and Todd Hoffman (Bungalow).

Producing the film is Emmy and Peabody Award-winning producer Ted Leonsis, founder and chairman of SnagFilms, who grew up in Lowell, Massachusetts. The film is narrated by Actor Michael Chiklis ("American Horror Story," "The Shield"), who is a Lowell, MA native, as well.

“Watching this story unfold last summer, I knew as a New Hampshire native that New Englanders would prevail,” said executive producer Nick Buzzell. “The community's dedication, loyalty and respect for hard work and doing the right thing are second to none. I quickly assembled a team of outstanding filmmakers to ensure the world hears this compelling story.”

The movie will debut later this year.
