Sullivan had been chief executive officer of Sky Deutschland for the past five years. Sky Deutschland, a big German pay-TV provider, had been a wholly owned subsidiary of News Corporation, and later, 21st Century Fox.
He has been credited with much of pay TV service’s growth -- including TV subscribers growing almost 70% during his time. Sullivan, who will be based in Los Angeles, will report to Peter Rice, chairman/CEO of Fox Network Group.
He will now oversee Fox Network Group’s platforms, including FOXNow, FXNow, FOX Sports Go and the FNG’s international Fox Play products, among others. He will also work with Randy Freer, president/COO of FNG, as well as senior executives of FNG’s traditional TV channels.
Before Fox, Sullivan had been at BSkyB, as managing director of BSkyB's Customer Group. Prior to this, Sullivan had a number of senior executive posts at pay TV network groups, including time at Viacom's Showtime Networks.
