Visa Readies Super Bowl Effort

Visa is gearing up for its Super Bowl efforts, which include a nightly digital light show.

Although the financial services brand is not purchasing a national TV spot, the brand says its footprint will be all over San Francisco.

Beginning Jan. 30 and running through the day of the Super Bowl, Visa’s corporate headquarters, located in the heart of Super Bowl City, will act as a canvas for the Visa Super Bowl 50 Digital Light Show.

The nightly show will illuminate the San Francisco skyline with vibrant images and animations that depict historic Bay Area landmarks, football-related iconography and payment innovation imagery.

The brand has a host of game-time payment experiences planned. Visa has partnered with Levi’s Stadium and the NFL to give fans attending Super Bowl 50 state-of-the-art payment experiences.

From mobile payments at point-of-sale, to easy in-stadium mobile ordering using the Super Bowl 50 app powered by Visa Checkout, fans will be able to pay for their purchases regardless of payment preference using Visa.

Visa has also outfitted Levi Stadium with 700+ NFC-enabled point-of-sale terminals and partnered with VenueNext and CyberSource to bring fans in-seat ordering powered by Visa Checkout.

During Super Bowl week, Visa will be conducting demonstrations at the NFL Shop and NFL Experience to show fans how they can use Samsung Pay for their purchases. Fans who participate in a demo will receive a $5 coupon to use towards their purchase. Fans who also upload their Visa card into Samsung Pay or show proof of Visa already loaded on their phone will receive a $10 coupon.
