Mekanism Opens Up In The Windy City

Creative shop Mekanism is opening up a new office in Chicago, its fourth location joining San Francisco, New York, and Seattle.

The 25-person office is being led by Rick Thornhill and Caroline Moncure both directors of brand management at the agency. Moncure is relocating from New York. Thornhill has been in Chicago working on the MillerCoors account which the shop added to its client roster last year.

Founder and Executive Creative Director Tommy Means is leading the creative department until the West Loop-located agency finds a new head creative.

The agency already works with several big national brands based in Chicago, including Jim Beam U.S. and the aforementioned MillerCoors.

"We have the same philosophy with each office, which is to create a mix of Mekanism-experienced folks who can bring in our culture alongside talent that is from the region of that office," says Jason Harris, CEO, president, Mekanism. "We took over an old boxing gym and revamped it to create the office. It's kind of a nice metaphor as we enter a brand new market for us."
