Johannes Leonardo Rounds Out Exec Team

Johannes Leonardo is bolstering its executive team by promoting Mark Aronson to head of strategy and hiring Maria Perez as head of print production and executive producer.

Aronson, who was promoted from group strategy director, will oversee work across the agency’s roster of clients, including adidas Originals, Mondelez, the Bezos Family Foundation and New York City Football Club.

His initial focus will be on expanding the planning department and its capabilities to cater to the agency’s continued growth and momentum.

Aronson replaces Andrew Dawson, with whom the agency amicably parted ways earlier this year and is now at Deutsch New York.

Perez comes to Johannes Leonardo with more than 20 years of production experience, and will EP the adidas Originals account while leading and further building out the print production department.

This newly created role was necessitated as a result of the agency and print production departments’ growth. Her role as EP on adidas is also new. As the account grew, there was a need for someone to lead the team of producers currently on the business, said the agency.

Over her career, she has worked at Madrid-based production company Candela Productions, 180 in Amsterdam and 72andSunny, Amsterdam. She is a familiar face at the creative agency. Following her time in Amsterdam, she moved to New York as a freelance producer and has worked at Johannes Leonardo for 18 months leading up to her full-time appointment.

Both will be based in New York and work under agency co-founders and chief creative officers, Jan Jacobs and Leo Premutico, as well as president, Bryan Yasko.
