In a surprising shakeup,
comScore Co-Founder Gian Fulgoni has been named CEO of the media audience measurement giant, replacing Serge Matta, who moves to executive vice chairman and an advisor to Fulgoni.
Fulgoni, who most recently served as chairman emeritus, takes the reins of comScore at a time when it has aggressive plans for market expansion, including a deeper foray into the TV audience
measurement marketplace following its acquisition of Nielsen rival Rentrak.
In a related move, comScore announced that former Rentrak chief Bill Livek, now executive vice chairman
and president of comScore, will assume strategic and day-to-day responsibility for the expansion of comScore's TV, cross-platform and movies measurement businesses.
Former Rentrak CFO David
Chemerow, meanwhile, has been named comScore’s new CFO, replacing Melvin Wesley III, who “has discontinued his role,” but will remain with the comScore and will help transition the
CFO duties to Chemerow.
