Ford Partners With NFL

Ford Motor Co. has entered into a three-year partnership with the NFL that includes the F-Series pickup truck becoming the official truck of the NFL.

“We have promoted Ford Trucks during NFL game broadcasts for many years and our regional dealer advertising groups have sponsorship relationships with 13 teams,” Matt McDonnell, Ford experiential marketing manager, Trucks/SUVs, tells Marketing Daily.

“The NFL is America’s favorite sport. NFL fans appreciate how tough, smart and capable NFL players are -- just like Ford F-Series, America’s favorite trucks. Becoming Official Truck of the NFL highlights this connection.”

Ford released a teaser video for social only. The first TV spots will break during the Denver Broncos season opener Sept. 8. All were created by Global Team Blue.

The Built Ford Tough Offensive Line of the Week — the league’s offensive line that best exhibits toughness, smarts and capability in prior week’s game — will be announced every Tuesday afternoon on NFL.com/Ford. Former NFL offensive lineman, NFL Network and NFL.com analyst Shaun O’Hara will leverage statistical analysis, positional expertise, and knowledge of assignments to determine the offensive line of the week based on their performance in the previous week’s games.

Ford kicks off its partnership in New York, where fans can order Built Ford Tough Tailgate Trucks On Demand through Uber. The trucks will deliver tailgate food, game tickets and merchandise. Other NFL cities later in the season will have access to game-day Built Ford Tough Tailgate Trucks On Demand, plus tickets for two. Fans also can enter Toughest Ticket sweepstakes at NFL.com/Ford for a chance to win a pair of tickets to Super Bowl LI, along with an NFL-themed all-new 2017 Ford F-Series Super Duty.

Ford also is offering a limited run of 400 Dallas Cowboys Edition F-150s in Texas, the state in which Ford sells the most F-Series Trucks.
