CBS Adds Live Sunday Game NFL Content To CBS All Access

CBS is expanding its lucrative NFL content for its growing CBS All Access digital TV service with Sunday afternoon games, and next year will add its Thursday night contests.

CBS’ linear TV “NFL on CBS” package will be available on CBS All Access starting this Sunday, December 4. This comes in a multiyear deal with the league. Games on CBS All Access will be available in the regular season, pre-season and post-season.

CBS All Access subscribers will receive all “NFL on CBS” games that are being broadcast in their local market.

Beginning next year, the deal will allow streaming not only of CBS’s Sunday afternoon games, but its share of the “Thursday Night Football” NFL package. The deal includes live pre-game and half-time coverage on CBS All Access.

CBS All Access will also allow users to sample content from NFL Game Pass, the NFL’s digital video subscription service, which makes games and other programming available on-demand.

In August, CBS said its two over-the-top digital TV services -- CBS All Access and sister Showtime -- each had one million subscribers.
