The proposed Paramount Skydance-Warner
Bros. Discovery merger will get a new single corporate brand name -- Skydance Corp.
That’s the company name David Ellison, chairman/CEO of Paramount Skydance it was given 20
years ago as a production company -- Skydance Media -- on the Paramount lot making film franchises including “Mission: Impossible” and “Top Gun,” and many others.
News of the corporate name change was announced in a social media post from Ellison on Friday.
But the long-time legendary Hollywood studios brand names will not
disappear. They will remain as “sub-brands” of the company.
“Both have distinct identities, extraordinary legacies and brands that have resonated with audiences for
generations,” Ellison wrote. “We wanted a name that would give the combined company an identity of its own while allowing Paramount and Warner Bros. — and all our extraordinary
brands — to remain in the spotlight.”

The Skydance name became part of the overall corporate name of the company when it bought Paramount Global in 2025 for $8
billion.
After a long period of criticism from major Hollywood-based working unions, and one 12-state lawsuit looking to stop the $111 billion proposed mega-deal, the companies are
set to officially combine next week on October 6.
This comes a day after Ellison announced Ynon Kreiz has been hired as a co-chief executive officer of the company. Kreiz comes to
the company from Mattel Inc, the toy manufacturer and entertainment company, where he has been CEO since 2018.
