NBC Leads Networks In Ratings, Viewership During Obama's Farewell

NBC won the battle for viewers during President Obama’s farewell speech in Chicago on Tuesday night. ABC was able to squeeze in at second place with the 18-49 demographic, while CBS was runner-up in total viewers.

Total viewers on NBC reached 8.9 million for the President’s address, a number that increased to 10.5 million when “This Is Us” came on at 10 p.m. ET, according to preliminary Nielsen numbers.

ABC had 5.6 million viewers tuned in to the farewell speech, with CBS beating its rival with 6.7 million.

The ratings shares in the advertiser-coveted demographic came in at 2.5/8 on NBC during the address, while ABC managed a 1.3/4 and CBS had a 1.1/3.
