New York Road Runners has named Madwell AOR for the TCS New York City marathon, following a formal review.
Madwell will handle all marketing and promotion for the November 5t event, which kicked off with the 2017 TCS New York City Marathon Drawing on March 2.
The TCS New York City Marathon has been running its current ad and marketing campaign for three years. Madwell's new creative will speak directly to runners, spectators, volunteers and fans of the marathon.
“The idea that running a marathon is just a physical feat is simplistic," says Chris Sojka, CCO, Madwell. "It’s gritty, emotional, painful, hopeful, inspirational and there are thousands of stories to be told that each runner carries with them. Simply put, the TCS New York City Marathon will move you, one way or another, spectator or runner."
The largest marathon in the world counts more than 1.1 million finishers since the race began in 1970.
The race features more than 50,000 runners, one million spectators while thousands of volunteers line the city streets in support of the runners.
