Elle Decor and e-commerce design resource Dering Hall have teamed to bring two new features to ElleDecor.com, allowing readers to purchase home decor items,
as well as access a directory to industry professionals and companies.
Elle Decor Shopping, which officially launches April 15, will display 30,000
of Dering Hall’s home furnishing products, such as furniture, lighting, home accessories, fabric, rugs and hardware, to ElleDecor.com readers.
The portal will also
feature selections curated by Elle Decor editors.
The shopping portal allows users to save and organize selections, click through to
purchase or contact sellers through DeringHall.com.
Brands featured on the shopping portal will be able to measure visitors’ usage and marketing
performance.
Michael Mraz, executive director of audience and strategic partnerships at Hearst Magazines Digital Media, stated the partnership
“adds a new dimension to our content through clickable shopping action points and curated resources that enhance the user experience.”
The
other feature of the partnership is the Elle Decor Designer Directory, which launches in May.
Readers can access a directory on Elle Decor’s site that has more than 500 industry
professionals and firms, such as interior designers and architects, and can browse work portfolios, send project requests and learn about designers through Elle Decor editorial.
The launch of the directory coincides with Elle Decor’s “A-List Issue,” which highlights the year’s top interior designers.
“These new offerings represent a broad expansion of our digital-marketing platform," stated Peter Sallick, co-founder of Dering Hall. He added the
effort is "creating new marketing opportunities for design companies to reach high-end trade and consumer audiences online.”
Hearst Magazines,
Elle Decor’s parent company, is an investor in Dering Hall.
Elle Decor already has a hub on Dering Hall’s site, and vice versa,
with editorial content that includes shopping links.
