Ooyala announced on Tuesday the hire of Mike Nikzad to serve as its new chief operating officer (COO). Nikzad arrives at Ooyala from Syncplicity, where he also served as COO.

In his new role, Nikzad will oversee the operations of Ooyala’s product life cycle -- inception, development, delivery, support, and customer deployments.

Prior to Syncplicity, Nikzad also held COO positions at EMC’s Consumer and Small Business division and NewNet Communication Technologies. Ooyala aims to capitalize on Nikzad’s experience in ensuring strong customer support, with a focus on engaging clients in strategic, product and corporate decisions.
