Univision Communications has promoted Steve Mandala to
president of advertising sales and marketing. He succeeds Keith Turner, who announced his retirement some weeks ago.
Mandala, who had been EVP of advertising sales, will oversee
advertising sales and marketing for Univision Network, UniMás, UCI’s cable networks, including Galavisión and UDN (Univision Deportes Network), as well as local media and digital.
He reports to new Univision CRO Tonia O’Connor.
Mandala had two stints with Univision; the latest came in rejoining the company in 2012.
Formerly, he was vice
president, sales for Univision. Before Univision, he was EVP of cable entertainment ad sales at NBCUniversal, where Turner was the president of advertising sales.
Mandala played key roles in
the acquisition of Oxygen by NBCU and in serving in a senior ad sales position at NBCU’s Telemundo, a Spanish-language network competitor to Univision.
His promotion is effective
immediately. He will work with Turner, who will depart the company at the end of the year.
