EU Rules Threaten GBP1bn UK TV Industry

MPs are warning the Government that EU plans to allow broadcasters to stream their content across the trading bloc could cost tv and film makers GBP1bn. At the moment, tv programme makers can sell content outside the UK once it has aired and receive a commission. The Guardian reveals the new rules -- broadcasters need only pay for one extra country to stream to the whole EU.
