Mondelez Taps Coca-Cola Exec Glen Walter To Head N.A. Business

Mondelez International has named Glen Walter executive vice president and president, North America.

Walter joins Mondelez from Coca-Cola Co., where he most recently was CEO of Coca-Cola Industries China. Previously, he was president and COO for Coca-Cola in North America, and prior to that, president of InBev USA.

Walter succeeds Tim Cofer, who had been acting as Mondelez’s North American chief on an interim basis since Roberto Marques left the company in April.

Walter joins Mondelez at a critical juncture, with Dirk Van de Put succeeding longtime CEO Irene Rosenfeld next month, and all packaged foods companies challenged to achieve growth amid unprecedented shifts in consumers’ preferences.

"Glen is an inspirational leader with an impressive track record of building brands and driving growth in North America and beyond," said Rosenfeld. “His deep operating experience in complex businesses, including a strong focus on sales excellence, make him a terrific leader for our North America region.”
