Reindeer Eat Healthy Snacks In New McDonald's Holiday Campaign

McDonald's is introducing its most ambitious and extensive holiday campaign in the UK with the #ReindeerReady Christmas campaign. As part of the promotion, the fast food chain is distributing free packs of carrot sticks, rebranded as 'Reindeer Treats.'

Developed with Leo Burnett, the creative centers around one little girl’s excitement for the arrival of Father Christmas’s reindeer as she carries her last carrot stick for the reindeer on Christmas Eve. The clip's twist has her realizing Father Christmas has more than one reindeer. Ultimately, her dad helps her find enough carrots for the fictional animals in time for their arrival.

The UK's Channel 4 debuted the 90-second spot, negotiated by OMD, during the 9 pm showing of "Gogglebox" on November 17.

Meanwhile, McDonald’s is partnering with Snapchat to introduce the Reindeer Face Lens, a themed Filter and an exclusive ‘Carrot Run’ game, build by MPC Creative. This hub is unlocked by swiping up on special McDonald’s Snap Ads or by scanning snapcodes printed across all the packaging for the chain's Christmas menu except coffee cups.
