Smart, In-Wall Outlet Launching At CES

Smart homes may be getting smarter from the inside out.

At CES next week, one company will introduce a connected electric outlet the can be used to control any device plugged into one of the Wi-Fi connected outlets.

The In-Wall Outlet by ConnectSense is an advancement from the company’s original external Smart Outlet. The new version is hard-wired and once installed it can control units plugged into it, such as lights, fans and other plug-in devices.

The built-in plug detection automatically senses when a device is plugged in, according to the company. A consumer then can control devices via mobile app, touch controls or voice control via third-part devices.

“We are focused on building best-in-class smart home devices that provide consumers with convenience and simplicity to their daily lives,” stated Adam Justice, founder of ConnectSense. “The In-Wall Outlet is our next step in expanding our connected product offering allowing customers to take the next step in smart home technology from augmenting their existing home to building it in.”

The smart outlets work with Apple’s HomeKit.

Can't wait to follow the life-span of my Glade Plug-in now that I can have an APP for that. I'll keep it right next to the lettuce criisper alert App.

Wil these be available for purchase at an "Outlet Store" ?????

Well that would finally make it a correct meaning, Mark.
