Yahoo Mail Says It Has Resolved UK Service Issue

YahooMail is back up and running in the UK after an outage of several hours on Friday.

Down Detector reports no issues this morning, but the Friday service outage drew many hostile comments from users, with some blaming Yahoo Mail parent Verizon.

“Articles from the UK that says yahoo is down for three hours for a few customers,” wrote one user. ‘Oh sure more like weeks! I don't think Verizon knows what it is doing and have no business with email servers or computers for that matter.”

The problem started at 9 a.m. UK time on Friday. According to Infosurhoy, “the email service has received hundreds of complaints an hour on downdetector.co.uk, with users moaning about persistent 'error 15' messages, and others telling of short periods of functionality before being kicked out of their accounts.”

Yahoo Mail acknowledged the problem in a tweet on Friday:

“We've received reports that users are seeing temporary access errors when accessing #YahooMail. We are working to fix this as quickly as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.”

Several hours later, Yahoo Mail reported, “The temporary access issues have now been resolved. Thank you for your patience. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”

However, this didn’t stop the flow of commentary. According to Infosurhoy, a user wrote, “Not very temporary: it’s been inaccessible since this morning.”
