Unruly, the social video advertising platform owned by News Corp., has named Norm Johnston CEO. He will report to News UK CEO Rebekah Brooks.

Johnston succeeds Sarah Wood, who will serve as non-executive chair of Unruly’s board of directors.

Johnston joins Unruly from MindShare, where he was CEO of MindShare FAST unit, and served as the parent company’s chief digital officer.

“Our priority is to maximize our digital advertising capabilities, and Norm will play a pivotal role in the development of a global ad platform, as well as being a thoughtful, creative and contemporary partner for our clients,” said News Corp. CEO Robert Thomson in a statement.
