Comcast and Tile
have partnered so Xfinity customers can locate Tile devices anywhere and see the results on TV.
Tile Bluetooth trackers can be attached to items, such as keys, a wallet or a purse. With the
connection extension, Xfinity customers can use their X1 Voice Remote to locate Tile devices and see the results of their search on their television.
The Tile devices can be named in the
Xfinity Home mobile app. For example, a tile attached to keys could be labeled “keys.” To locate them, an X1 customer could say into their remote, “Xfinity Home, find my keys”
and the last known location of the missing keys will be displayed on the TV.
“This is a home automation partnership that helps solve real-life problems,” stated Sri Solur, senior
vice president, Comcast Cable. “When a child arrives home from school, a parent can simply say, ‘Xfinity Home, where’s Sam’s backpack?’ into their voice remote and
see that it was left at school.”
The Tile partnership is the latest in a series of in-home voice extensions by Comcast. Late last year, Comcast Xfinity expanded its home automation
across the entire Xfinity portfolio, converting its remote control into a voice home hub.
