MDC’s The Media Kitchen
has promoted Barry Lowenthal to CEO of the communications planning and media services agency.
Lowenthal, who has been president, joined the agency in 2006 from Bartle Bogle Hegarty
(BBH), where he was media director -- although earlier in his career he worked for Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners for eight years, rising to media director and partner.
The Media
Kitchen is a Kirshenbaum, Bond, Senecal & Partners (KBS) partner agency and part of the MDC holding company.
Earlier in his career, Lowenthal was a media executive at Grey
Advertising, Backer Spielvogel Bates, and NW Ayer, where he began his career in advertising in 1988 as a group assistant.
Over the past eight years, Lowenthal has led the
agency’s global expansion and its development of sophisticated approaches to media service, including a biddable media management system and a “signals planning” system, which were
part of the innovations that led MediaPost to recognize The Media Kitchen as one of its agencies of the year for the past several years.
