Spotify Taps Agency Veteran To Lead Its Expanding Verticals Team

Spotify has expanded its Verticals practice (part of its Global Agency and Accounts Team) globally and has hired Khartoon Weiss to lead the division. She will report to Alex Underwood, VP, Head of Strategy Partnership & Verticals at Spotify. 

Previously, Weiss was chief marketing and client officer at Media Assembly, part of MDC Partners. Earlier she served at iHeartMedia, MediaCom North America, Grey Worldwide, Ogilvy & Mather and BBDO. 

Khartoon joins the Global Agency and Accounts leadership team comprised of Underwood, Angela Solk (Global Head of Agencies), Sean Kegelman (Global Head of Audience Solutions), Kayee Cheung (Global Head of Trading) and Tomi Odunsi (Strategy Manager). 

The Global Verticals team will initially focus on CPG, Auto, Entertainment, Tech and Retail sectors and serve as a consultancy within the sales team to help develop solutions for  advertisers. Additionally, the team will advise Global Client Leads who manage Spotify’s advertising relationships and partnerships.
