In a symbolic shift away from the Martin Sorrell era, which ended in April after 30-plus years, WPP is planning to relocate its London headquarters.
Sources confirmed the news, first reported earlier today by Campaign.
Co-chief operating officers Mark Read and Andrew Scott disclosed the plan in a memo to corporate staffers.
For 30-plus years, the company’s headquarters has been located in the posh Mayfair section of London. The new location is still to be determined.
Campaign quoted from the memo, in which Read and Scott stated: “We are reviewing our working environment to make it fit for purpose and ready for our new requirements and, specifically, to create a more modern and attractive office that is better suited to more collaborative ways of working."
