Good News, Bad News For Sir Charles In New DraftKings Campaign

DraftKings is introducing its first celebrity spokesperson, Charles Barkley, to support the gambling platform's new Sportsbook, a mobile sports betting app/web platform. 

Developed with agency Deutsch, the creative brings back last year's Dr. Aftkings, who diagnoses fans allegedly suffering from sports-related disorders.

This year's twist introduces NBA Hall of Fame athlete Charles Barkley who receives good and bad news from his doctor in one 30-spot. The doctor tells him his playing days are over -- but thankfully he doesn't need talent to be in the broadcasting booth.

Another spot shows the good doctor and Sir Charles on a plane where Barkley is watching a documentary about horseshoe crabs.

The former basketball player also stars in the "Barkley Knows Bets" digital series to teach fans more about gambling platform. 

The campaign launches Aug. 13.
