GOP Sends Quick Email Refuting Second Allegation Against Kavanaugh

The Republican National Committee is on its game when it comes to email. Within hours of the news that a second accuser had come forward against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on Sunday, the GOP got out an email blast to supporters, refuting the allegation and the New Yorker article that reported it.

The article, by Ronan Farrow and Jane Mayer, alleges that Kavanaugh was guilty of sexual misconduct toward Deborah Ramirez during a party when he was a freshman at Yale. But the email outlines “7 very serious problems with the New Yorker story,” according to New York magazine.

It found “very serious veracity issues” with the piece, including the fact that it reportedly took Ramirez six days to feel “confident enough of her recollections” to talk to reporters.

The email also states that Ramirez is a registered Democrat who “works toward human rights, social justice, and social change.”
