Hair color brand Punky Colour has launched a virtual hair try-on experience for consumers to test semi-permanent at-home color in seconds by using a smartphone.

The virtual try-on capabilities are being created by AR app developer Perfect Corp. and use YouCam’s augmented reality and artificial intelligence technologies that consider the unique movements of individual hair strands.

The AR feature is reached via the YouCam Makeup app in the “hair” category.

“After seeing the YouCam hair color technology in action, we knew it was a perfect fit for the Punky Colour brand,” stated Marwan Zreik, vice president of marketing for Punky Colour.
