Jim Wegerbauer has joined marketing agency 9thWonder (FKA The Company) as partner and global planning lead.
Wegerbauer joins 9thWonder from GSD&M, where he was vice president-group strategy director. Prior to that, he was chief idea officer at Dieste, brand management director at The Richards Group, vice president, planning and business development, TM Advertising, and director of creativity and planning for the Houston Rockets.
In his new role, Wegerbauer is tasked with helping to develop “unifying approaches” for 9thWonder clients by tapping the right mix of agency specialties, which include marketing, media and content creation, to develop solutions centered on client challenges.
He will support the agency’s existing accounts (Public Storage, Phillips 66, Direct Energy Home Services, and the American Heart Association among them) and new business development efforts.
Wegerbauer wrote "1 + 1 = 3: Changing the Equation with the Booming Hispanic Market" and founded the 5-year-old Provoke Weekly, a multicultural newspaper.
The agency has offices in Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Buenos Aires and Nha Trang, Vietnam.
