Trustwave has debuted an upgraded email security platform that includes encryption and authorization policies.

Secure Email Gateway (SEG) 8.2 is designed to help prevent newer blended threats before they reach the inbox, “effectively eliminating the weakest link — the end user,” states C.J. Spallitta, senior vice president of product management at Trustwave.

Spallitta adds:  “Email is now synonymous with all facets of business and cybercriminals are constantly refining their methods to exploit that dependence.”

SEG 8.2 is built on such standards as Sender Policy Framework (SPF), DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) and Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance (DMARC).
