Berlin Cameron, Refinery29, Others Team Up For Women Startup Platform

Berlin Cameron and Refinery29, in collaboration with social entrepreneur Dee Poku and strategist Serena Saitas, are introducing LLShe, a platform designed to help women entrepreneurs.

“LLShe was built to grow the women-driven economy and change the disconnect in the leadership level of the business and investment community," says Jen DaSilva, president, Berlin Cameron.

DaSilva said the agency brought the idea to Refinery29 because “their readers want to shop and support women-led businesses, but 62% of women don’t know where to find them. We are both driven by the rise of the female-driven economy and we have different specialties that complement each other to support women-led businesses and help them grow."

The platform will feature mass-scale pop-up shops of women-founded companies in cities nationwide. There will also be an online shopping destination on Refinery29 that will allow consumers to easily shop female-founded businesses in a dedicated place.

And there will be an educational component where women can learn about launching their own businesses and hear from other female founders.

Refinery29’s Chief Client Officer-head of advertising Ashley Miles says “combining Refinery29's deep connection with millions of highly engaged women and Berlin Cameron's strategic and creative capabilities will result in a meaningful new platform that drives awareness, credibility and sales to female-led businesses.”

The initiative, which intends to have brand partners, will be led by a team housed at both Berlin Cameron and Refinery29.

"We are actively in discussions with potential sponsors and look forward to announcing these partnerships in the near future," says Miles.
