Consumers welcome emails from retail stores — especially if they contain coupons, according to a study by Fluent Commerce.
Of 5,000 shoppers polled, 64% would visit a nearby store if they were emailed coupons, the report says, according to Chain Store Age.
In addition, 82% prefer to communicate by email, and 35% check their emails three times a day. However, 42% open only 10% of the retail emails sent to them, and 41% prefer Instagram, Twitter and other social media.
Gen Z customers are most like to open personalized emails from stores, the article says.
Despite their openness to email and having their shopping patterns noted, 58% of consumers don’t want their location tracked.
