PodcastOne Taps Peter Morris As CEO

PodcastOne, one of the largest podcast producers in the country, has tapped Peter Morris to serve as CEO.

Morris succeeds PodcastOne executive chairman Norm Pattiz, who had been serving as chief executive on an interim basis since last year. He will report to Pattiz, and work alongside PodcastOne president Kit Gray.

Morris most recently served as an executive VP at Barstool Sports, and before that served in executive roles at Imax and Funny or Die.

"I was introduced to Peter a short time ago by a mutual friend when I was looking for a consultant to put some fresh eyes on our business,” Pattiz says. “Over the last month, it became obvious that we were both interested in working together to build PodcastOne. His background at Barstool Sports, Funny or Die and Imax are wonderfully compatible with our plans to take advantage of what's going on in podcasting today.”

PodcastOne counts Adam Carolla, Laura Ingraham, Shaquille O’Neal and others as hosts. Carolla is one of the most popular podcasters in the country, and recently signed an extension with the company, keeping him on their platform through 2023.

The news of Morris’ hire caps a significant week of news in the podcasting space. Earlier, Spotify made two significant acquisitions in Anchor and Gimlet Media, while a new podcasting platform called Himalaya launched with $100 million in VC funding.
