Stop & Shop Taps Havas For Media Duties

Stop & Shop, the Quincy, MA-based supermarket chain that operates 400 stores in the Northeast, has tapped Havas Media for planning and buying duties.

The agency will lead planning and buying across both traditional and digital formats, including video, audio, and out of home (OOH).

The chain spent $14.5 million on measured media in 2017 according Kantar Media.

The agency will also support the brand’s repositioning strategy, which includes refreshed and modernized stores, new brand imagery and improving the customer experience.

The account will be led out of Boston by Jess Anderson, vice president-account director.

“Havas delivered a strategy that demonstrates they really understand our core consumer and the value of connecting with them through media,” said Whitney Clarke, senior vice president-CMO, Stop & Shop. “Their meaningful brands approach embodies the path of our own brand journey.”

The award continues a win streak that includes recent assignments from Bob’s Discount Furniture and Papa John’s.
