SugarCRM Inc. has acquired the Collabspot email integration tools from Collabspot Pte Ltd., the company announced on Thursday. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

In addition, the firm named Craig Charlton as its new CEO. He will be responsible for driving organic growth and expansion through acquisition.

Collabspot helps firms integrate their CRM systems with email providers such as Google and Microsoft, facilitating email synchronization and communication with prospects, the firm says.

SugarCRM hopes to deliver an intuitive user experience while eliminating data entry.

“This acquisition represents a significant tech step forward as we look to further integrate business productivity suites and CRM, two of the biggest communication data sources for businesses,” Charlton states. 

Last month, SugarCRM launched Hint Insights, a tool that sends alerts via multiple channels to facilitate decision-making.

Silicon Valley-based SugarCRM is backed by Accel-KKR.
