Wongdoody Launches Retail Division, Taps Publicis.Sapient Veteran To Run It

Ad shop Wongdoody, acquired by IT and consulting firm Infosys last year, has hired agency veteran Steve White to launch a retail division at the agency.

White and his team will create product offerings for the agency that leverage resources from the parent company, which also works with retail customers on transformation efforts.

White, who is based in Seattle, is well known for his next-generation commerce expertise, having served in that sector at Publicis Sapient (working for its Razorfish and Sapient Razorfish brands), as well as R/GA on its Nike account for direct-to-consumer, retail and ecommerce.

Earlier, he worked for TBWA’s Integer agency, one of the largest retail/commerce agencies in the U.S.

The move follows the agency’s hire earlier this month of Tod Rathbone as managing director/digital transformation for its recently established New York City office. Rathbone is also a Publicis.Sapient alum, having served there as group vice president, strategy and consulting for the firm’s North America region.

Sounds like Wongdoody is undergoing a bit of a transformation itself, with the help of its new parent.
