Tubi Expands Ad Sales Team

The free, ad-supported streaming video service Tubi is expanding its ad sales team.

The company has hired Peter Graseck to serve as vice president, East Coast ad sales.

Graseck was most recently with Viacom, where he served as senior vice president, Viacom Partner Solutions. In his new role, he will lead Tubi’s New York sales office, working alongside fellow Tubi vice presidents Heather Strofs, who leads West Coast ad sales, and Todd Segall, who leads midwest ad sales.

Segall, Strofs and Graseck all report to Tubi CRO Mark Rotblat.

Tubi is one of a handful of streaming video companies trying to create free, ad-supported options that can compliment subscription and ad-free offerings from Netflix and Hulu. The company says its library now has more than 12,000 titles spanning 40,000 hours.

It plans to invest hundreds of millions of dollars into content acquisition in the coming years.

Some of the Tubi content is TV-MA movies, which raises the question of ad placement for local advertisers that get placed in weird environments for their family-themed commercials. I witnessed an egregious example this morning. Now that streaming is so popular, it might be wise for Tubi to avoid abusing the customer.

Hi Douglas! I head up Customer Support over at Tubi, and I'd love to get more information on the issue you saw this morning so our Ads team can investigate what happened. Please email me at support@tubi.tv and I'll share it with the team right away. Thank you!
