Publicis, Uber Travel Down Under

And you thought Uber was getting a bit pricey in your neighborhood.

An Australian tourism group, Uber, Publicis Worldwide and sibling PR shop Herd MSL are uniting to raise awareness for the Great Barrier Reef with “scUber” rides that cost a princely $3,000.

OK, that’s for two riders, but still. Plus, you do get an up-close view of the reef in a submarine with lots of photo ops.

And it’s for a worthy cause.

Uber is donating the equivalent value of every “scUber” ride taken to the advocacy group Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef. It’s an organization with a mission to conserve and protect the reef, which as you probably know has taken a bit of a beating in recent decades, given the effects of the climate crisis.

The global campaign includes a competition with the chance of winning a scUber experience.
