HBO Vet Spadaccini Named CMO, WarnerMedia Entertainment

Continuing to fill senior executive positions at WarnerMedia, veteran HBO executive Chris Spadaccini has been named chief marketing officer of WarnerMedia Entertainment.

He will report to Bob Greenblatt, chairman of WarnerMedia Entertainment and Direct-To-Consumer.

Spadaccini will be responsible for all marketing aspects of the new division, including all HBO platforms -- its linear networks, as well as digital OTT platforms HBOGo and HBONow. He will also oversee ad-supported cable network and brands TBS, TNT, truTV.

In addition, he will be responsible for upcoming marketing activities around WarnerMedia’s Direct-To-Consumer OTT offering.

Since 2016, Spadaccini had been executive vice president, marketing for HBO, responsible for all multiplatform brand and program marketing for HBO and Cinemax as well as HBONOW, HBOGO and HBO.com.

Spadaccini began his career at HBO in 1999, where he held a number of positions in the group’s program advertising unit.

It was also announced that Michael Engleman, who had been executive vice president-CMO TNT/TBS, will be leaving the company.

Last month, WarnerMedia named veteran Disney-ABC Television executive Kevin Brockman to executive vice president, global communications, reporting to Greenblatt.

Later this year, WarnerMedia will launch a major three-tier programming service OTT platform.
