Volvo Driverless Trucks Set To Transport Goods At Port Terminal

As part of a collaboration with the ferry and logistics company DFDS, Volvo Trucks is about to start transporting goods in its driverless vehicles.
The goods will be transported from a DFDS logistics center to a port facility in Gothenburg, Sweden, for distribution across the world.
The Volvo driverless Vera electric truck was designed for repetitive assignments in logistics centers, ports and factories, according to Volvo Trucks.
The plan is to connect several Vera vehicles monitored by a control tower to create a constant flow for greater efficiency.
The collaboration is a first step in implementing Vera in a real transport assignment on pre-defined public roads.
“Vera may have a speed limit, but we don’t,” states Mikael Karlsson, vice president, autonomous solutions at Volvo Trucks. “Testing has already started, and we intend to implement the solution within the coming years.”
And all this money has accomplished What??? I mean beside putting a driver out of work.
Is the cargo safer? Does it get moved in the yard better? is it worth more?
So we lose a driver but we have more people to monitor the driverless truck.
What's wrong with people??? Go do something worthy for the human race.
